Script Creation: Blog Reflection

Making the script for our play was very funny and pleasant. Actually, it was very hard to do it because we weren’t very creative, at least I wasn’t very creative, but we finally did it. Working with my partners super awesome. We take the opportunity to know each other better and it result in a good friendship, the same as in the first semester when we create our group. Working in group isn’t very easy but we manage to make it possible. But overall, working with my partners was very good and I think we make an excellent team and an excellent work.

The character that I interpret is a simple character, but also a complex one. I interpret a young Russian guy that is not very friendly but is sociable. He has a problem with politics and some times with other people with different thoughts. He could be a little racist and when he is almost always correct. He is proud of his nationality and hates when people incriminates him or someone of his nation. He didn’t live in Russia enough to speak full Russian but he learned some words from his grandfather and parents. You can see from the script that he is volatile when he is brought about sometime political and he is very agile when it comes to judge people. But with all his defects he still a good person and an excellent friend willing to help and be the best friend possible. You can see it at the end when he decides to join his friends to play more videogames after the misunderstanding they had.

Our script’s purpose was to show people that although we are of different nationalities, of different races or think in different ways we can always be united. These friends fight for a silly thing but in the end, they realize what they have done and that it makes no sense to fight for something so insignificant and that their friendship is worth more than all that. The main topic of our script would be how the people’s discrimination affects us and our humanity and how the bad judgements affects our lives and our relationships with other people.

It was a good experience to write the script. I didn’t feel very confident writing it but then I realize that acting it was easier for me. I enjoy acting it more because it is easier to express yourself in front of everyone than think of writing a script. But I really enjoy all writing it and practicing it with my partners. It was a really good experience. I think that performing the play was helpful for us because in that way we can lose our fears. I have done this before so I think that was an advantage for me when memorizing the script. I really enjoy this activity and although it wasn’t easy to memorize and learn everything fast, it was a great experience.

  1. I believe that acting can be easier than writing. Its easier to act and idea than to create one from scratch. However , I don't believe that it was a "really" good experience the process and everything because it was stressful. The planning, organization, agreements, practicing. However, we got it and got some buckets. (Believing and Doubting)
